"Magnetic Thunderball Immortality Qi Gong"
An excerpt from Peter's book, Moonlight Doesn't Wet the Water - The Search for the Jade Spring Immortal.
Before Kang began demonstrating the Immortality Qi Gong he had been taught by the Jade Spring Immortal, he opened his pack. Wrapped carefully in silk were two iron balls. Holding the balls up at just above eye level, he said, “These are as precious as dragon eggs. Balls like these were first introduced to the court by Emperor Jia Jing in the sixteenth century, and have always been linked with the Ming dynasty. However, when the doctor of Emperor Qianlong insisted that he practice every day, he became the longest-reigning emperor in the history of China. Both the emperor and his physician lived extremely long lives.
“However, there is the case of Fan, who became an immortal because he practiced down by the lodestone pool. That’s where the iron in the ground has become magnetic. If we had a place like that, well, you could become an immortal in much less time. The Jade Spring Immortal has a pair of these balls made from especially rare magnetic earth. It is rumored that if a mortal were to practice with these balls, he could attain the Tao within a month. Yes, that’s right! Every time you exhale, your qi goes out of the palms, and every time you inhale, it returns and deposits in your bone marrow battery. The Jade Spring Immortal’s qi gong balls are so charged with qi that as soon as you touch them, your cells begin to revitalize, and you begin to grow young again. I hesitate to think how many times he’s held them in practice. Of course, he also does his practice by a lodestone pool. One washing with that water will erase the wrinkles from your face – so it is said.
“Many do not know about the thunderballs, as I call them. Thunder is the sound of fire, and is also said to be the laughter of the heavens. Maybe heaven laughs at those who do Immortality Qi Gong but have forgotten the magic contained in these dragon eggs.
“Because the Ancients knew and observed everything in the light of favorable and unfavorable timing, they were able to perfect their bodies and live longer. There is a season and time for everything. Just like there are proper times to plant according to the phases of the moon, there are proper times, movements, and directions for qi gong.
“The rotation of the seasons accounts for time as most people know it. This special qi gong is designed to undo time, like turning the seasons and clock backward. Your body’s internal clock is aligned with a forward orientation; when you turn in reverse, your body’s clock is being reset to a younger state. So, the whole movement is counter to the clock – counterclockwise or counter-time-wise.
“Our bodies go through 12-year and 60-year cycles. So it is believed that this practice, if continued unbroken for 60 years, will grant one physical immortality. However, the Jade Spring immortal assures me that only 12 years are needed if the magnetism is strong enough.
“Remember, a person who is really vital is a person with strong electricity. And wherever electricity flows, you have magnetism.”
